Our food booths have typical festival fare as well as some specialties. Dynamites (for those of you outside of the Woonsocket/Manville area, you will LOVE these,) candy apples, “walking tacos”, Chinese food, and of course pizza, fries, dogs and other festival cravings!

Kids and the Great Pumpkin ChuckOnce again and always a big hit is the giant Pumpkin Chuck. There are only two of these medieval-style catapulting trebuchets in existence in New England and, thanks to Heritage Restoration, you’ll get to try your hand at one here. Hit the targets and win prizes!

Brass Attack is our headline musical act! Brass Attack, RIThey’re incredibly talented with a strong following and have a fantastic trumpeter–our very own high school band director, Fritz Benz! With all of the rave reviews and repeat requests, we just had to book them again!

In the happy department, Bobo the Clown will delight us, Johnny Magic will amaze us and an uber-giant pumpkin will once again be on display for photo-taking opportunities. Smile!! We also have a small petting zoo of goats and Brookside Equestrian Center will be providing pony rides once again.

This year’s focus is less on fundraising and more on fun-raising! There are more FREE  activies than ever in all age groups! The little ones will be able to tour and explore a variety of construction and emergency vehicles at our new Touch-a-Truck event, the elementary-aged kids will get to compete in field events, and the adults can win cash cards and certificates in our 3-Category Photo Contest sponsored by Bhatia Images! We also have close to a dozen businesses who have stepped up to be Activity Hosts providing festival games, raffles and prizes!

Karaoke by Soundwaves Entertainment

A good round of Karaoke, anyone?!! No explanation necessary. Except that Todd Makilanaw of Soundwaves Entertainment will be on hand with his full repertoire of songs!

Green Exhibit Hybrids

There will be dance and karate demonstrations, and in keeping with North Smithfield’s green initiatives, we have a brand new Green Car Exhibit. Many to see, many to put on your wish list!

We have volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, more entertainment details and  a full schedule of events. Visit our blog for updates, opportunities, requests and possibly even a contest or two! And be sure to sign up for our emailing list in the box on the left to stay in the loop! (This will also give you a head start to be in the know next year! You can unsubscribe at any time.)

See you on the grounds of North Smithfield High School on September 17, 2011!
